Are you going to the FIT Show, we are! Last year’s inaugural show was very successful with almost 6,000 visitors and 170 exhibitors. Now, that’s a huge achievement. In fact it was so successful it is going to take place all over again this year from 10-12th June at the Telford International Centre.
For the second year running we are very pleased to be sponsoring the FIT Show 2014 Master Fitter Challenge. We are committed to raising standards within the Fenestration industry and what better way than encouraging installers to showcase their installation skills and have some fun in the process.
The challenge involves eight installers installing a window and door over two days, fast and efficiently, observing installation best practice, health and safety procedures, using great customer care and to the strict criteria established by GQA assessors and the Fenestration College. If all that didn’t present a big enough challenge, the installers will have to work with their peers and the thousands of visitors at the show looking on!
Not only will each installer be competing for his honour and professional pride but also for a share of the £10,000 prize fund. The winners will have their moment of glory at the FIT Show Gala Dinner where their success will be announced to the 800 guests. This event will certainly be the highlight of the show.
If you are interested in taking part in the challenge you must register by completing an online application form. The next stage will involve a telephone interview where you will need to answer some technical questions. If you pass this stage successfully, you will then be visited on-site by one of the assessors who will observe you working. From all the information collated from these stages the Assessment team will then select the eight individual installers to take part in the Master Fitter Challenge at the FIT Show.
So what have you got to lose? The deadline for entering the FIT Show Master Fitter Competition has been extended to 31 March 2014, so why not take up the challenge and apply today?
We all know how important it is to recognise hard work and dedication, and the Fenestration industry is no exception. The annual G Awards are held to celebrate the outstanding performance of companies and individuals in our industry during the year. The Awards are a great opportunity to raise morale, and show the public the outstanding products, services, development and innovation from all areas of our industry.
It is a particularly exciting event this year as the G Awards celebrate their 10th year on 29th November making these the G13 Awards.
FENSA is proud to be one of the main event sponsors. Here is a Gallery of some images of last year’s awards to whet your appetite.
It is free to enter the Awards and there are 12 categories to choose from. They are open to everyone and you can enter as many categories as you wish. To help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the awards, new categories have been added. However entries have closed now so if you have missed the deadline, remember to put a date in your diary for next year’s G14 Awards.
The organisation for the G13 Awards is well under way and the finalists have been announced.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all the finalists Good Luck!
A great event is always made even better with good food and entertainment and to that end the G13 Awards evening finishes with a Gala Dinner at the London Hilton.
The G13 Awards will be hosted by comedian; author and TV presenter Dara O’Brian who we are sure will make for an entertaining evening! We hope you can join us but please be aware booking is essential.
Well, we have had the G12 awards, and what a great event that was!
It was a fantastic opportunity to reward the hard work and dedication of those working in our industry, and have that recognition realised nationwide. Awards help to boost team morale, raise the profile of your brand, improve its value, help to generate business and provide an extra stamp of credibility among your customers.
There is now a new award in the form of The National Fenestration Awards. (NFA)
This new Industry Awards Scheme will be the first to be run online and through the power of social media. We know how important social media is to the industry as a whole. The great thing with being ‘online’ is everybody can be involved, whether they are using Facebook, Twitter, websites or any of the other forms of social media.
The NFA intends to use Twitter as its social media platform as the founders feel Twitter will be the most suitable to engage with everyone.
The general aim of the awards is to generate interest in the industry and allow people from all sectors of the industry to vote for those individuals who deserve special recognition within the Fenestration Industry
To be able to vote you will first need to register. This process only takes a few minutes and once registered you will then be kept up to date via email. There are many categories representing all the aspects of the industry and nominations are already under way. There will not be a judging panel as the nominees will be voted for by everyone. There is also an opportunity for three of the categories to be suggested by the registered voters.
The National Fenestration Awards will be run by Aluminum Trade Supply and Double Glazing Blogger as well as a team of industry professionals and experts.
If this mini update has piqued your interest look out over the coming weeks for further details of the National Fenestration Awards as well as the registration process, categories and news.
So, who has entered for the G12 awards? Hope you have, as the entry deadline is now closed! The next exciting event will be the announcing of the finalists in October! Look out for news of that.
Ok, we know some of you will now be wondering what all the fuss is about, so let’s fill you in.
FENSA is one of the main sponsors of The G12 Awards as well as being on the judging panel; we will be handing out an award on the evening.
We wanted to be part of this fantastic opportunity to reward the hard work and dedication of those working in our industry, and have that recognition realised nationwide.
So what are the Awards? This is how they are officially described:
The G12 Awards are the industry’s Oscars and can provide genuine business benefits for Winners and Finalists. The G12 Awards give public recognition on a national scale to those organisations that excel at what they do, every day, regardless of speciality, size or budget. Not only do the Awards help to boost team morale but they raise the profile of your brand, improve its value, help to generate business and provide an extra stamp of credibility among your customers.
We like to think of the awards as an innovative way to recognise your outstanding achievements and raise the profile of our industry.
To ensure the awards are open to everyone, there are twelve different categories to choose from and you can enter as many as you wish. If you haven’t got round to entering this year, it’s definitely worth taking the time to put together an entry for next year – even being shortlisted can bring real benefits.
There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
The G12 Awards culminate in a spectacular ‘Awards Presentation & Gala Dinner’ at the world-class Hilton on Park Lane Hotel, London, on Friday 23 November.
